I ordered the My First Piano II for my son's first birthday. They were out of the one I ordered, and after sending me the wrong one, they immediately corrected it by sending an even nicer one the next day, in time for his birthday. I was so impressed by the customer service at Schoenut...rare these days. My son loves banging on it the sound is really good for a toy piano, and it's sturdy and attractive. I recommend the one with 25 keys instead of 18, since it will continue to be fun later on when he can actually play something. I'm also glad I ended up with the taller one, because he doesn't want to sit much now and he can play it standing. Later he can use the little bench. I very highly recommend this product!Best Deals for Schoenhut 25-Key My First Piano II, Red
My wife and I are both concert-level pianists and we own a grand piano. We bought this toy piano to use in a keyboard group for a talent show. Two of our teenagers also play the piano and our 6 year old is also learning to play. We have all loved having this toy piano around. It is fun to play together with the piano. I like that it is in tune with our big piano. (i.e a "c" on this piano is a "c" on the regular piano. )Honest reviews on Schoenhut 25-Key My First Piano II, Red
Elyssa, my 11 month old granddaughter loves this piano. It has a true to life sound. The only negative thing I can say is that it turns over easily. She pushes on it or holds on to it to stand and it topples over. I keep it pushed back against the wall for her. Overall I am very pleased with this product.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Schoenhut 25-Key My First Piano II, Red
This was purchased as a gift for my niece. If my brother hadn't wanted it for her or if it were for my own kid, I would have returned it. Alas... Here's the things I don't like about it.1. Misleading Company Image. The company likes to pretend that it's American or German made, but if you read their website more closely, it's actually manufactured in China.
2. PHOTO SHOPPED IMAGE!!!! I'm sorry, but there are 3 giant bolts, not painted red, on each side of the piano that are NOT in the photographs featured online or on the toy's box.
3. Shoddy construction. Made out of cheap particle board. The piano arrived broken. When the bottom half of the keys didn't make any sound, I called the company. They sent me an e-mail detailing everything I should check for before calling them back. I had to unscrew the top, take it off, and examine the piano. There was a piece of wood inside that the keys slide under and it had come loose on the left side. This piece was cut too short and was badly tacked in place. We ended up fixing it ourselves by using gorilla glue. It will probably be more secure now than if we had sent it back to them.
4. BAD SOUND! In general, it sounds cheap and the highest note sounds AWFUL. Completely out of tune.
5. Absurd Return Policy. Must be within 10 days, have to pay for shipping, insurance, and a 15% re-stocking fee. This is terrible.
I really, really hope my niece likes it because I don't think it's worth the $50. I'm sure she'll enjoy banging on it.
