Back before Christmas of 1990, I was playing around with a 120 In One electronic lab kit. I liked it so much that I wanted my own for christmas. Back in 1987 I was given a small one, but I did not know how to use the spring terminals. My father got me the 200 In One lab kit, cause I was so interested in electronics and experiments. In 1991, I started playing around with it I built many projects with it, and learned the components. The main projects I used the most from 1990 to 1994 until it fell apart was the One Transistor Radio circuit. I started building this project when I was still interested in shortwave and AM radio circuits. The crystal set wasn't too loud, so I build this project and kept on experimenting with it. The One transistor radio project was picking stations from all around the world without tuning the variable tuning capacitor. It required a wire antenna on terminal 70 and it had to be strung across the room. I had a RF ground as well. In the daytime the a small amount of radio stations from the shortwave band came it if they were strong, but tuned the AM broadcast band. When I get another one of these kits, I will have to try to build this circuit on a breadboard if I can find the input transformer and Germanium diode. In 1992 to 1994 I started a real radio station using this kit, and was transmitting on various AM frequencies. This lab kit does more than radio circuits, it teaches you the basics of electronics, and also will show you the simple values of the resistors, capacitors, transistors, and diodes, and transformers. It does teach basic digital electronics such as electronic games, and simple 1 digit counters. Still this kit is worth a great education that you can use in your technology classes to pass the course in electronics. Without this kit, I don't know where I would be at, but the 200 In One sure gave a great advanced hobby in electronics, computers, and communications. Since I am using the AM broadcaster circuit, I will get another for the One Transistor Radio. I miss that circuit so much!

I got one of these when I was a kid and loved it! My 10 year old son wants to be an "Inventor" when he grows up and loves eletrical stuff,wires,batterys,light bulbs,little motors etc.. I remembered having one as a kid and knew exactly what to get him for his 11th birthday. It was a HIT! I highly recommend this project kit.

Bought this for my grandson last Christmas (10-1/2 at the time) and he is still building new things with it. A great supplement to science and math curricula and keeps him busy during those numerous Michigan snow days.

My son is already using this! My one complaint is that too many components are hidden, and a bit too much reliance on ICs rather than discrete parts. To many of the projects are directed mostly at education without the "fun" aspect. But a great educational tool for the future engineer!

I'm remembering 40 years ago as I have fun with my son who has shown a love for technology. We have the ability to change some of the components eg resistors in some of the labs to see how it affects the outcome. My son is fascinated.
