This provides stimulus of sensory and tactile play. It also encourages speech and discussion. The child engages in conversation as he or she is trying to guess what they pick before they pull it out of the bag. Not for long hours of play but well worth the 10 to 15 minutes (or more) that engages them to continue. Lots of giggles.

My mom gave this to me when my daughter was under a year old. I had no idea it was supposed to be a "feel and find", I just thought it was little puzzles which my daughter loved to play with since the pieces are easy to put together. Now we love it because it lets her practice shapes and colors, and she can play with the little figures too. I just put out a few at a time, not the whole set. We won't do the "feel and find" till she's a little older though.

My three year old seems to really like this toy. He can't figure out the items yet by feeling them inside the bag, but it's something we do together. He can easily put the shapes in the proper place. I think it's a toy you can grow with because when they get older they can try and find the items in the bag by themselves. It's a good quality toy and stores nicely in the bag provided.

The Feel & Find World Icons come with 20 wooden disk and matching puzzle-piece shape inserts as well as a cloth bag to store the pieces in. The pieces are made from rubberwood and then stained with a low VOC aniline dye, so you don't need to worry if they get chewed on by little ones in the home.

Puzzle shapes range from common shapes such as a circle, a moon and a cross to worldwide symbols such as a tree, a hippo, a fish, and a bird. The pieces are chunky and a great fit for smaller hands. There are four disk puzzles in the color groups of red, yellow, green, blue and pink/purple. The chunky puzzle pieces are dyed to match the disk color, so for younger kids this is a great find and match toy by color.

To play as a game, you place the disks on the floor, fill the bag with all the puzzle pieces, stick your hand inside, grab a shape {no peeking!!} and see if you can guess which shape you are feeling. Our kids had a blast with this! To make it a little easier for Kaleb we put between 5-10 shapes in at a time, but the older kids were stuck with the whole bag {grins}.

I love that this is something that we can all do together from our youngest up to the oldest {age 10} and even I can play along with them and have a little fun! We'll be hanging onto these for quite some time!

I bought this game after seeing it recommended on montessori websites and blogs. My daughter loves it. She will play with it for several minutes, creating her own games of discovery with the pieces. What is nice about the game is that it has both shapes and animals and people. This makes it a great tool for learning and reinforcing shapes but also giving a more advanced learning experience since there are only minor differences between the animals and trees. It is even fun for my 18 month old who loves showing me the animals and making their distinct sounds. An overall win!
