What can I say, this doesn't take the place of reading to your child, and it shouldn't, but my 5 year old loves to play with these Bugsby books, and this Spongbob one in particular. I can't always be present to read to him, and teach him words. I like that he can sit at the island in the kitchen while I am making dinner and "read" rather than watch TV. Spongebob isn't my favorite character or role model for him, but I pick my battles, I'd rather have him pick up a book and learn something.

This is a top quality item with lots of different activities to do--I find my 10 year old nephews reading along with my 3 1/2 old grandson when he's playing with it--great early learning item/toy-will prepare him for sitting still in school too!!!
