sainsmart board with the new tb6560 chip but conections are a bit confusing for someone still learning if they are not familiar with clk cw and enable pin outs that go from the board to the parallel port breakout since it has 2 connectors for each. Cw clk and enable pins of both negative and positive which for me were totaly confusing and when googled you will not find anything about this one,do not be put off by this it is a actually a very minor thing just confusing to someone not very experianced in electronics the connectors are cwcw+ which on most boards are labled as Direction , clkclk+ which in most boards are labled as step , and enable which are still eneable. This is not where the confusion set in for me that part is pretty much standard and cw and clk are very commonly used the confusing part is when you see that each of these have both a + and a connector and the board you are hooking it up to does not have both as well ... Hmmm real head scratcher there and googling this board will not get you any results that will explaing this ...WELL NOW your thinking Oh crap I just wasted my money --- NO YOU DID NOT this board actually has many more configuration options than the other board listed by Sainsmart on amazon that actually costs more it simply has the connector that is 5v+ broke out into one for each signal and labled as cw+ clk+ and enable+ you simply tie all three together and hook them to the 5v+ from your parallel port breakout or microprocessor
I did blow mine up but that was entirely due to my lack of knowledge in electronics and hooking it up in various ways trying to get it to work The nice people at sainsmart have done everything they can to help resolve this and I have not asked for a free replacement because while this boards connectors are a bit confusing they are correctly marked for anyone familiar with electronics and I am the one who caused the issue here I actually like the layout of this board much better that the other two I had purchased if the other type and will be ordering several more just like it.Even after I told them I was at fault they still asked what they could do to help with resolving this and I told them I do not expect a free replacement but that a bit of a discount in the replacement would be nice when I order it I am very impressed with their commitment to customer satifaction and quick response to customer inquiries when contacted.
remember eneabl+ CW+ and CLK+ all connect to the 5v+ on your device suppling controll signals the 5v+ on a arduino for example and you have no problem
