My kids love to color in the numbers to discover what is hidden in the pictures. Different from a coloring book, these books are not easy to find, but worth having. Each number is associated with a certain color, which does not change from page to page, so it is easy to learn what color to use when you see a certain number. After coloring all the numbers... presto! A picture appears. This book is age appropriate for 4-7, but a 6 or 7 year old may want the next book up which is listed for 7 and up. I bought one for my oldest and had to get 2 more for my other kids who were dying to try a picture on their own!

I had a book quite awhile ago that was similar to this book. I used it with my students as a brain teaser. They loved not knowing what the picture was until they started to color the number spaces. This book made the pictures very obvious, so the students knew what the pictures would be before they even began coloring it. Somewhat disappointing.
